A drama series about a Geordie factory worker who writes country songs and looks for his big break in the music industry. James play Ade Lynn, a London A & R man in the series.
The Tape – Jed Shepperd , a Newcastle factory worker, composes and writes his own songs in his spare time. Ade Lynn, London A and R man, is under pressure to discover a happening act. Then he hears Jed’s unsolicited cassette.
The Pitch – A deal is struck and Ade becomes Jed’s managing agent. Success is immediate as Ade receives an offerand Jed quits his job. But Ade’s extravagant and destructive lifestyle looks certain to jeopardise everything.
The Deal – Jed arrives in London and is styled into shape by Ade, who sets up various deals for Jed while dodging the bullets from his drugs dealer.
The Trip – Jed finds the band in Nashville way below his standard. Then he saves Carmel Cantrell’s drummer from an attack by local rednecks, and in return Carmel offers her band to Jed and Ade. See today’s choices.
The Truth – There’s sadness and shock in store for lathe operator-turned country singer Jed Shepperd when he returns to Newcastle for his workmate Jock’sfuneral. Back in London, his manager Ade secures another recording deal but his euphoria is destined to be short lived.
The Call – Nashville to record a song with Carmel. Back home the police warn Ade that Snotter is out to kill him. Jed politely rejects Carmel’s advances, which drives her to drink and leads to her breaking down on stage. With Carmel’s manager in hot pursuit, Jed rushes back to London.
The End – Preparation is under way for Jed’s first single release, but will this Geordie cowboy’s dream turn to dust?
